Young Mommy is more than a dedicated mother of 4 she is an innovator launching a clean rap revolution. Breaking barriers with her content, she is at the forefront of what she coins, a “clean rap movement.” LadyGunn says “Young Mommy provides a non-explicit alternative that seeks not to do away with the spice of the genre, but instead to offer a different exploration of it from a female perspective that eschews some of the hypersexual languages and messaging.” Mario Lopez of Access Hollywood said Young Mommy is creating “clean rap but with plenty of swagger to go with it.”

Influenced by popular creators such as Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Saweetie and Megan Thee Stallion, Young Mommy possesses that same, bold attitude. Her hip-hop tracks Worth It, Swanky Ma and Too Hot are catchy rap tracks that can be played in the car, home, salon, mall or club, with or without kids around.. With themes of empowerment, femininity and independence, Young Mommy is transforming the way moms, and rappers, are perceived. Her music is also perfect for film, tv and commercials.

Raised in Canada, the flourishing artist grew up listening to mostly American rappers. Immensely inspired by that sound, she even performed as Run DMC in her school’s Christmas concert. Young Mommy left a 7-year long corporate marketing and PR career to become a mother. However when she became a mom, her love for the rap genre had to be modified. “I couldn’t listen to rap in front of my kids when they were about 2 because of the explicit lyrics and images in mainstream music. They began emulating popular female rappers in their videos.” This was when the light bulb went off and Young Mommy had that “aha” moment. She could craft her own catchy flows but without any explicit lines.

Young Mommy has become an advocate for parents and children, creating a G-Rated listening experience that fills a void in the current offerings of the rap genre. She believes that editing and masking explicit language in today’s music and calling it “clean” is not exactly accurate and is a passionate leader in that fight for change.

Young Mommy released her single Swanky Ma on Mother’s Day 2022 landing her in coveted media outlets including Access Hollywood, Celebmix and LadyGunn. Like Worth It, Swanky Ma has an energetic, danceable flair and can be enjoyed by a multitude of audiences. “It’s for all the moms who want to feel more confident and own their hotness and power.” The song is an ode to women, especially mothers, and reminds us that we deserve to be valued, celebrated and appreciated. Young Mommy is a prime example of how powerful and driven moms can be.

The rapper has been independently writing and performing songs since 2012 under various monikers, recently landing on the artist name Young Mommy in 2021. In 2014, at the launch of her clean rap mission in Vancouver, Canada, she raised $8,000 via Kickstarter. Shortly after she dropped her first two singles called Face the Music and Day Away with the help of a local rock and RnB producer. After relocating to California that same year she found Omina Labs, a local recording studio in Sacramento.

Over a period of several years, she independently released nine singles, paid for out of the family’s monthly grocery budget. In 2020 at the start of the Covid pandemic her track Mutha garnered interviews with Entertainment Tonight and ET Canada. In 2021 her brand attracted a large investor that enabled her to expand her social media outreach and create her 2022 singles and music videos.

Young Mommy inspires people to take a stand in what they believe in. This visionary is trailblazing a path for other artists to consider the effect of their music on society and challenges them to write content without the need for expletives.
